Betty Queen Center
The Betty Queen Garden Club project was started several years ago by Master Gardeners to provide Senior Center members with garden-related educational programs and activities. The garden project has evolved since moving into the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center. The Center provides more space for programs and a nice outdoor patio with raised planters for garden projects. The Garden Club members plant outside each spring and watch the planters bloom with showy plantings throughout the summer.
Programs have included composting, worm composting, vegetable gardening, care of indoor plants, water gardens and gardening to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and beneficial insects. The Garden Club meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10:45 am to 11:45 pm, April through September.
